RHTP Funding Opportunities by State: How to Find the Official Route

RHTP opportunities, if a state publishes them, live in state processes rather than one nationwide portal. Start with the state you serve, then follow the official route rather than a search result or a generic announcement.

What the federal program tells you

CMS describes RHTP as a $50 billion program across fiscal years 2026 through 2030, implemented through awards to states. States must use funds for three or more approved uses. The program's approved uses and strategic goals can help a team understand the kinds of rural-health work a state may prioritize. They do not create an opportunity, eligibility rule, or deadline for a particular organization.

What to watch at the state level

Choose the relevant state in RHTP Radar to reach its program route and monitoring status. Read the state page for context, then check the state agency's own RHTP, grants, or procurement path for direct documents. Do not use a state page or a directory listing as proof that a current opportunity exists.

CMS announced awards to all 50 states, but each state implements its own strategy. A state narrative, award notice, webinar, FAQ, or general program page is useful context. It is not automatically an RFP, RFA, NOFO, grant application, or contract notice. The controlling item is the agency document that identifies the issuer, scope, response instructions, and deadline or procurement schedule.

Use the official route

The RHIhub state directory can help you find a state program page, but it is a navigation aid, not the issuing agency. RHTP Radar is an independent monitoring service. We point readers to official state routes and direct documents when verified; the agency's posting remains the source of truth.

Keep the distinction clear. A state priority is a signal. A direct official document is what tells you whether there is a pursuit-ready opportunity and what it requires.
